PRESS RELEASE – REVIMA REACHES AGREEMENT WITH PRAT & WHITNEY AS A GLOBAL AUTHORIZED REPAIR FACILITY FOR SEVERAL APU MODELS
Rives-en-Seine, France, February 22nd, 2021
Revima reaches agreement with Pratt & Whitney as a Global Authorized Repair facility for several APU models
Revima, a leading independent APU and landing gear MRO specialist, has reached an agreement with Pratt & Whitney, a division of Raytheon Technologies Corp. (NYSE: RTX), to renew and expand its authorized repair facility agreement on a worldwide basis for a variety of APU models (APS500, APS1000, APS2000 and APS2100) for both commercial and military applications, and for the remaining life of the programs for the specific models covered in the agreement.
Under the terms of the agreement, Revima will be expanding its customer coverage and existing capabilities to include most of Pratt & Whitney’s radial APUs, with aircraft applications such as the B717, Dash 7, Dash 8 series, Embraer 135/145, Fokker 50, as well as numerous military applications.
As a leading independent APU expert with over 60 years of MRO experience and a Pratt & Whitney authorized repair facility, the addition of these product lines will make Revima capable of repairing virtually the entire line of Pratt & Whitney radial APUs.
Pratt & Whitney will support Revima in training engineers and technicians, transferring inventory, tooling and performing test cell calibrations at Revima’s APU center of excellence, in Normandy, France. Following the transition period, Revima will manage APU radial overhaul services work that had been previously completed at Pratt & Whitney’s West Palm Beach facility. On the military side, Revima will act as a subcontractor to Pratt & Whitney.
Olivier Legrand, President & CEO of Revima Group said, “This new authorized facility repair agreement highlights the strong relationship between Pratt & Whitney and Revima, which goes back to the early 1990s for APUs and even the 60s when we were repairing main engines. We have been supporting the regional applications of APS500 and APS1000 for many years and are extremely proud to expand our support to the wider family of these APU models and look forward to providing our expertise to its large customer base. Adding to our scope a broad range of military APUs is also a very relevant diversification move for Revima’s portfolio”.
“Revima will conduct its APU MRO work in full compliance with Pratt & Whitney’s practices and procedures. As such, customers will fly with the same level of confidence as when their APU MRO work was done by us, the engine OEM” stated Joe Sylvestro, vice president, Global Aftermarket Operations, Pratt & Whitney. “Revima has a decades-long track record of experience and success in the APU MRO business and currently works on more than 500 APU engines annually. Given its expertise and extensive market reach, Revima will continue to focus on service excellence and industry-leading turnaround times.”
Transaction is subject to regulatory approvals which are in progress.
